Installation in metal
It is a site-specific installation that weaves together tradition and modernity. By exploring the rich symbolism of Iranian architecture and Persian carpets, the artists invite the viewer into an experience that both deepens and renews our relationship with cultural heritage.
The intricate symbols, traditionally woven to tell stories and express deep meanings, are given new life here through the cuts in the mirror works. The mirrors not only reflect the surroundings but also the viewer, creating a multi-dimensional dialogue between past and present, between the individual and the collective. Here, the symbols serve a dual purpose: to be both reflective and reflected.
The installation is an invitation to contemplation and togetherness, a place where each individual’s struggle becomes part of a larger narrative. The work, which builds on a previous installation created for Unmute at Värmeverket in the fall of 2023, explores and challenges our ideas of community and identity. In this meeting between the historical and the contemporary, the personal and the collective, we are encouraged to reflect on our place in a larger story.
